Djibouti is a unique travel destination, particularly for nature enthusiasts, thanks to its diverse wildlife and flora. Its geography and well-preserved natural spaces make it a prime location for observing endemic species, attracting wildlife specialists and eco-tourists alike.

At Arhotours, we have designed this exclusive safari experience entirely dedicated to discovering Djibouti’s rare terrestrial wildlife, many of which are found only in the Horn of Africa—or even exclusively within Djibouti’s borders.

This journey is divided into two parts, each focusing on specific geographic zones where these incredible animals thrive:

  • Northern Mountains Expedition: The first part of the tour explores the mountainous regions in the north, home to the elusive Djibouti Leopard and the endemic Djibouti Francolin.

  • Southern Wilderness Safari: The second leg of the trip takes you south, where you’ll have the opportunity to observe extraordinary species such as the Beira Antelope, the Giraffe Gazelle, the Dik-dik, Speke’s Gundi (Pectinator), and the Somali Elephant Shrew, rediscovered in this region in 2020.

  • Trek to the world-famous Everest Base Camp
  • Enjoy the amazing view of the Himalayas from Kala Patthar
  • Travel through the Sherpa villages of Namche, Khumjung, Khunde, and Dingboche
  • Visit Tengboche the biggest and oldest monastery n the region.
